Hi i'm Robin, an innovative educator and content delivery manager with a personal passion for putting experiential learning and technology at the heart of all areas of teaching and learning for students and adults while bringing families and the local community into the experience to make meaningful connections that bring the learning into the real world!
For almost 20 years, I worked my way through the education system to become an outstanding teacher and head teacher of a school where I developed and implemented a creative curriculum for teaching and learning that was driven by technology, the arts, food and community.
Through this experiential learning model, learners were immersed in their subjects and inspired to become 'World Ready' leaders of tomorrow through powerful, real world shared experiences that developed academic and social emotional well-being.
This innovative approach to curriculum design lead to unique whole school experiences such as learning about regenerative agriculture through geography, teaching through silent or foreign language films (even in Y1!), starting a school micro-bakery where all students made bread to share with the community and managing our own food bank as well as students making food for a local homeless shelter every week while learning about food hygiene and how they can be a positive influence on the world.
Through my leadership, I took our school from having 5 laptops to 1:1 iPads for all students and staff as a centre of technological excellence, leading to us being invited to successfully apply for Apple Distinguished School status and many wonderful opportunities to work with and inspire schools from all around the world in the use of technology in learning.
My greatest joy has always been learning through technology. I love creating digital content, training courses, guides and video tutorials as well as using tech to support organisation, data analysis and to reduce workload. I relish learning new programmes and platforms and seeing how to combine them for the best outcomes.
As a head of school, I have lots of experience of working with many different stakeholders from students and parents to staff at all levels, external government agencies, governors, Progress Partners and Ofsted to name a few. Developing a strong team where everyone is onboard with the ethos is vital to scaling success.
I was very excited to take all of this experience into the world of EdTech where I could impact learning in a different way and to an even wider audience!
So, building on this foundation, I transitioned into the EdTech industry as the Content Delivery Manager at EdPlace, where I expanded my expertise in educational content course creation, editorial oversight and strategic leadership to deliver impactful educational content and assessments.
In my role as the content delivery manager with EdPlace, I was responsible for interviewing, training and leading a team of expert teacher-authors to create engaging educational content and assessments from KS1 to GCSE for English, maths and science. This involved extensive mapping and planning of courses, rigorous critical analysis, feedback, and robust evaluation to continuously improve and ensure consistently high-quality outcomes.
Our goal was to create inspiring educational content courses, with a strong focus on designing questions and assessments that helped learners achieve their goals. To date, I have led the creation of over 3,000 activities, lesson resources and assessments, contributing to our recognition as National Tutoring Award winners 2024, Bett Best Educational Resource finalists 2024 and Bett finalists for Best AI for Teaching and Assessment. 2025.
